100% Uji Tencha - Matcha Tea Leaves
¥3,000
SOLD OUT
This is tencha, the material tea leaf used exclusively for making matcha powder.
Each pack contains 45g of carefully cultivated leaves.
During cultivation, the tea gardens are deliberately shaded from sunlight.
This process increases the natural concentration of theanine,
the amino acid responsible for umami and calmness.
The leaves are grown along the Kizu River in Kozuya, Kyoto,
one of the recognized production areas of Uji tea.
Tea from this riverbank region has long been known as Hama-cha, or Riverbank Uji Tea.
Tencha tea leaf from the official Uji tea area is rarely released to the market.
This is a quiet, reflective tea — meant to restore the mind.
These leaves may also be stone-milled to enjoy as matcha.
